250g Tuwar dal (Boiled in 400g water)
Boil in pressure cooker up to 3 whistles & don't open until overall pressure is released.
Step 1:
2 tbsp ghee or groundnut oil
1/2 tbsp cumin seeds1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 Pinch Asafoetida
4 small green chilies, finely chopped
1/2 tbsp turmeric
Mix everything in Step 1 in a small bowl
Step2:
1/2 tbsp Coriander Powder
2 Pinch Red chili powder
1 Pinch Garam Masala
Mix everything in Step 2 in another small bowl
Step 3:
1 Red Tomato, finely chopped
Fresh coriander, finely chopped to serve(More the merrier)
Recipe :
HEAT Oil/Ghee in Pan/Kadai
Add Mixture from step 1, stir
wait 3 seconds
Add mixture in step 2, stir
wait 2 seconds
Add boiled DAL to the Pan, Mixing it with the Masala we just made.
Add 1 cup water to this if you want more liquidity.
After Mixing well, now add ingredients in step 3
wait for 4 minutes, shut off the gas.
Your Basic Tuwar Dal (less Spicy) is ready to serve.
